About The Author

Tess K. Reis Author of Sammy: The Real Cool Dog

Tess was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico. After graduating from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, she was employed by Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was there that she met and married George E. Reis. They both retired from Sandia in 1985. Tess is a member of SouthWest Writers.

After George's death in 2007, Tess adopted Sammy, a one-year-old mixed breed, from a local animal shelter. With his boundless energy and curiosity, Sammy presented Tess with endless photo ops. When adding text to the photos, Tess realized that she had a wonderful story that preschoolers would love. that is how SAMMY, The Real Cool Dog was created.
